Stored Supplies

The Stored Supplies team of Distribution & Storage provides gas cylinders & alcohol, and delivers Fisher Scientific & VWR International supplies to the UCSF campus.

If specific gases are needed, assistance is available by telephone or email to help you prepare a Purchase Order so that you can receive your order in a timely manner.

Most Specialty gases are received in seven to ten working days.

To Order:

Fax the following information to 502-4277

  • Speedchart number
  • Delivery point
  • Contact person and telephone number
  • Stock number, type of gas, and quantity

Please Note: Same-day/rush deliveries will be charged an hourly rate.

Empty Gas Cylinders or Alcohol Cans

Any Dept using compressed gases and/or alcohol should contact us at 476-5987 when any empty gas cylinders or alcohol cans need to be picked up.

Returns to Fisher Scientific or VWR International

For any Fisher Scientific or VWR International products ordered by a campus department being returned to the vendor, the ordering department must first call the vendor (Fisher or VWR) to obtain a Returned Goods Authorization Number (RGA#).

Once the campus department has received the RGA#, the campus department can contact us at 476-5987 to request a pick-up. At the time of the request, we'll also need some additional information in along with the RGA#: contact details (name, telephone, location), general description of item/s being returned including quantity, and a Purchase Order Number (PO#).
