UCSF Surplus Vehicle Auction

UCSF Surplus Vehicle Auction takes place on the last Thursday of each month, except for official University holidays when the auction will take place the following Thursday.

Minimum bid price will be assigned to each vehicle based on the vehicle's condition in accordance with Kelley Blue Book Used Car pricing or by UCSF Transportation Services.

UCSF reserves the right to remove any vehicle from Surplus Vehicle Auction at any time for any reason.

UCSF assumes no responsibility regarding the performance of these vehicles and there are no guarantees made.

THESE VEHICLES ARE BEING SOLD ON AN "AS IS" AND "WHERE IS" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTY AS TO FITNESS FOR USE OR MERCHANTABILITY, F.O.B. UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, SAN FRANCISCO.

All vehicles have been stored outside. Bidders have the right, at their expense, to have the vehicles inspected by an automotive mechanic of their choice at the auction site at 616 Forbes Avenue, South San Francisco, CA 94080.

Vehicles auctioned for PARTS ONLY will not be issued smog certificates.

Bidding Process

UCSF Surplus Vehicle Auction takes place on the last Thursday of each month, except for official University holidays when the auction will take place the following Thursday.

Sealed bids will be accepted at the UCSF Surplus Vehicle Auction site at 616 Forbes Avenue, South San Francisco, CA 94080 from the first day of the month until 1 p.m. on the day of the auction. At that time, the highest bid at or above the asking or reserve price will be accepted for each vehicle.

In the event of a tie bid, the tied bidders will be asked to submit a sealed tie-breaking offer. The winner will be notified within 24 hours from the day of the auction.

Bids must be submitted in writing no later than 1 p.m. on the last Thursday of the month the UCSF Surplus Vehicle Auction is held. Please contact us (distribution.feedback@ucsf.edu) to request the appropriate bid submission form.

The winning bidder will be notified in person or by phone.

After 3 p.m. on the day of the UCSF Surplus Vehicle Auction, each remaining vehicle may be purchased "on-the-spot" and on a "first come-first serve" without the bid process if the offer is at the asking or reserve price.

Offers below asking or reserve price will be entertained through the sealed bid process.

Sealed bids below asking or reserved price may be made at any time after 3 p.m. on the day of the UCSF Surplus Vehicle Auction and must be received by the last day of the month by 3:00 p.m.

On the first day of the following month, the bids will be opened and the highest bid will be accepted for each vehicle that was not already sold during the previous month UCSF Surplus Vehicle Auction. In the event of a tie bid, the tied bidders will be asked to submit a sealed tie-breaking offer. The winner will be notified within 24 hours from the first day of the month.

The winning bidder will be notified by phone.

Winning bidders must pay in full with a bank Cashiers Check payable to "UC REGENTS" and remove the vehicles within 10 days after notification. Certificate of Title for the vehicle must be picked up at UCSF Transportation Services, 1625 Owens Street, Suite 104, San Francisco, CA 94158. Once sale is completed, there are no returns or no refunds, as all sales are final.
